Is Network Marketing a Scam?

STATISTICS WILL TELL YOU THAT OVER 90% OF PEOPLE FAIL IN NWM.

That’s a staggering and humbling statistic, isn’t it?

Before you throw your hands up or wave the white flag, let’s put this statistic in perspective…

 

 

1. Keep in mind that, when most people start their NWM business, they quit after getting 3 NOs.

It only takes 3 people who aren’t interested to make most walk away from their business all together.

THREE.

And guess what they do once they quit.

They say…

Even though others within their very same organization are having complete success.

 

 

2. Leaders have to take some responsibility in this too…be sure to set the proper expectations.

It’s not…
Net lottery ticket marketing
Net hoping Marketing
Net wishing Marketing
Net dreaming Marketing

 

Instead, it’s…

Net WORK Marketing

It’s okay to pitch dreams but not to sell potentials on the idea that NWM “easy” or to give the impression that success is “guaranteed” or over-night.

NWM is very simple, but it’s not easy.

 

 

3. What’s the definition of failure when it comes to business?

Did you know that about 80% of ALL new businesses of any type fail within the first 5 years!

And 80% of the ones that make it during the first 5 years fail during the next 5 years!

So, every single business must be a scam then?

And these are businesses where it is required to invest a lot of time, money, blood, sweat, and tears in the way of start up costs.

Look at the percentage of athletes that make it to the NBA. According to LiveStrong.com, “For men, about three out of 10,000 male high school basketball players will be drafted into the NBA, or about .03 percent. For women, the numbers are similar. One out of 5,000 players, or .02 percent, will be drafted into the WNBA.”

So, the NBA and WNBA must be scams?

 

 

4. Do you realize that over 80% of Americans actually hate their jobs.

What are the odds of someone ever working their way to the top of a major company? Aren’t these companies’ business models structured like a pyramid?

I’m not calling corporate America a pyramid scheme, I’m simply pointing out that one has a lot less chance of making it to the top of corporate America than in NWM.

NWM doesn’t discriminate…
You are paid based on what you DO!

Not your education level…
Not where you went to school…
Not politics…
Not your current situation…
Not your age…

In NWM, you can make more money than the person above you. Now, I ask you to consider, does that EVER happen in corporate America??

 

I hope the perspective that I’ve shared in these 4 points will help you to feel confident when someone disputes the integrity of the NWM industry. I hope it arms you with information and facts…and, if it’s all info you’ve heard before, I hope it better equips you to help your team members to shift their perspective or increase their confidence!

Double the Turn Out at Your Events!

LET’S DOUBLE THE TURN OUT AT YOUR EVENTS!

 

In the beginning, I felt like only about 20% of those who committed would actually show up for events — whether the event was in person or online.

 

 

Events could be prospecting get togethers, online trainings, product demonstrations…it didn’t matter.

The turn out was about the same — even after people had committed!

 

I even followed up with them personally to make sure they were still able to attend: Hey Julie!! Are you still coming to the _______ tonight? 

Then I realized, not only was I creating doubt as to whether they would attend, but I was also giving them an out.

 

 

So, here’s what I started to do instead…

 

I started to send an assumptive text:

Hey Julie! Thank you so much for making time to _____. I know you’re extremely busy, and it means a ton to me that you’re going to join me.

 

Some may say that this is manipulative…but why?

  • She’s already committed to attending…
  • I’m not tricking her in any way.
  • I’m just not giving her the space to make an excuse.

Instead, I am choosing to assume it and confirm it with gratitude!! I assume that she’s attending (because she said she would), and I confirm it by appreciating her attendance in advance!

Stop Making These Excuses…and Watch Your Business GROW!

How many times a week do you reach out to others about your company’s business opportunity?

Be honest…is it as many times as you reach out about products or services?

So often, when it comes to approaching others about our business, we make excuses. We quit on the person before even offering them the opportunity to join our business. Why??

They’re loaded and don’t need the money…

They don’t have the money to get started…

They’re so busy already…

See what I mean?? We talk ourselves out of approaching new people by judging their need solely based on what we see or know from the outside.

So, how do we change that??

GET RIGHT! Before you can approach anyone, YOU have to be sure about your business opportunity!!

If YOU aren’t sure…THEY aren’t sure!

Think about all the reasons why each person SHOULD join your team.

How would or how could your business opportunity potentially benefit THEM? 

You might have incredible products, but they’re buying YOU as well.

The greatest weapon you have in your arsenal is your authenticity.

You want to be able to anticipate each potential recruit’s needs and/or objections and provide REAL reasons that speak to that person’s situation.

If they make a ton of money:

  • They understand business and leverage
  • So they could make even more money!
  • What does that person love or enjoy where MORE MONEY would be a benefit??
  • Write that down!

If they have no money:

  • They need this business to make money!
  • What support systems do you have in place?
  • How will you assist them as they get started?
  • What are the initial bonus opportunities verses the initial start up cost?
  • Write those things down!

If they have no time:

  • Your business could help them to leverage their time and achieve time freedom!
  • Do they have kids?
  • Are they working more than one job outside the home?
  • Are they constantly working overtime?
  • How might having extra income from your business help them to leverage their time in order to have more time for their family…or whatever they enjoy?
  • Be prepared to explain how investing x number of hours in their business could actually GIVE them MORE TIME!

They need to know that you are committed and that you understand THEIR NEEDS.

When they see this, trust is built, and they will be more open to hearing what you have to say!

Do you see yourself as a BUSINESS OWNER? 

Well guess what…

YOU ARE!

Time to show up as the PROFESSIONAL you are!

Professionals in any network marketing business will agree on one thing: Having a solid plan for following up is the key ingredient to your success.

If you aren’t following up and/or following up consistently, you truly are working as an amateur in your own business and are NOT working your business to its true potential.

Scary, right? 

What if you never do these sales follow ups?

If you simply don’t follow up with leads or prospects, you could be missing out on 80% of the people you could be sharing your products and business with — and potentially recruiting.

MOST people are NOT going to purchase or join in the very first conversation, so be sure to work a smart follow up plan!

Check out these tips as you develop your follow up plan: 

1.  Be consistent

2.  Don’t wait. Urgency is synonomous with wealth.  Make sure to always have your follow up scheduled from your last contact. Use your paper calendar, make a list, set reminders in your phone, create a spreadsheet…whatever works for YOU!

3.  Remember: MOST won’t buy your products or join your business during the first conversation! Following up sounds simple and like common sense, but takes a lot of consistent discipline. Have that vision and then execute it by being intentional.

3 Tips to Conquer Your Fear of Going LIVE

HERE ARE MY TOP 3 TIPS FOR OVERCOMING YOUR FEAR OF FB LIVES:

1. EMBRACE THE SUCK

Getting started is the hardest part, so it helps to keep in mind that everyonehas sucked at first!! It’s a learning experience for EVERYONE — not just you!!

There will be imperfections. Plan on that, but don’t get hung up on them!

 

2. USE YOUR EXPERTISE & PASSION 

What are you an expert on or passionate about?

Maybe you’re amazing at keeping things organized, meal prepping, or trendy make up tips?

Maybe you’re an expert at getting stains out of laundry, crafting, or entertaining your kids?

Maybe you’re passionate about a certain charity or organization. The point?

Your LIVE topic doesn’t have to be anything that’s related to your product or business…especially as you’re getting started.

Use these LIVES to expand or even create your audience base…you never know who you will reach!!

 

3. PRACTICE 

  • You can practice your LIVE in the ONLY ME setting on FB. This allows you to settle your nerves and practice the flow of information you will share.
  • You can also start out small by going LIVE in any of your FB Groups that you belong to. These are usually safe “communities” and smaller audiences.
  • If you do end up with a “good” LIVE, you can always change the “only me” settings and share it into your timeline.
